CPI is located in a country famous for peace in a region characterized by political turmoil.  Costa Rica disbanded its army in 1948 and has been known as the Switzerland of Latin America ever since.  With a population of a little over 3 million, Costa Rica boasts a very high literacy rate and a commendable national health care system.  From its Caribbean and Pacific beaches, to its volcanoes, rain forests, and cloud forests, Costa Rica is a country full of  natural beauty.  

Students never run out of new places to visit, and because CPI has three locations students have the opportunity to see three very diverse parts of the country, HEREDIA, MONTEVERDE and FLAMINGO.
