Centro Panamericano de Idiomas is a great place to study Spanish. There are many places to study in Latin America. I've studied in several different schools in Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Paraguay. CPI is by far the best school I have seen. At CPI the students needs come first. The owner, Romi Najarro, and her family try to make their student's language learning vacations as pleasant and as productive as possible. They see that the class size remains small and that each student receives personal attention. I've been to other schools that seem to lose interest in their students after the they pay the tuition.

Total emersion in Spanish is possible at both CPI schools by living with a Costa Rican family. If you choose to live with a family, you not only have a chance to practice the language but also can gain valuable insights into the culture. CPI places one student per family. Couples and students with families can also be accomodated. The host families, all of which are carefully screened, provide a private room (the bath is shared), breakfast, dinner and laundry service..
